NOAA Workshop on JPSS Life-Cycle
Data Reprocessing to Advance
Weather and Climate Applications
- When:
- 17-18 May 2016
- Where:
- Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center

5825 University Research Court, Suite 4102
College Park, MD 20740-3823
- Who:
- By Invitation / remote access for overflow attendees
The theme for this technical meeting is to, "Maximize and optimize
JPSS data applications through SDR and EDR reprocessing". The goals for
the meeting are to better understand the Suomi NPP sensor data anomalies
since satellite launch, to develop the plans for and/or to report the
progress in JPSS data reprocessing as we are preparing for next year's
launch of the JPSS-1 satellite. Through this meeting we plan to
accomplish the following objectives:
- Understand Suomi NPP instrument and sensor data performance and prepare our readiness for JPSS-1 launch and post-launch activities;
- Develop baseline approaches, schedule and plans for SDR and EDR reprocessing;
- Demonstrate the improved and advanced calval algorithms for reprocessing applications;
- Understand the potential impacts of the reprocessed Suomi NPP data on NOAA operations.
Information on the agenda, registration, and other logistics will be
available in the upcoming weeks. Since this meeting has limited in-person
room capacity, anyone not invited is encouraged to participate remotely
via WebEx and conference call.
